Fallout 76 is a shared-world multiplayer survival game for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. The title marks an all-new direction for Bethesda's establishing post-apocalyptic role-playing series, allowing groups of survivors to explore, build settlements, and uncover secrets of West Virginia. It's a multiplayer experience which requires you to work together and form alliances.

Bethesda has a reputation of creating great stories, but its technical prowess is abysmal to say the least. Fallout 76 is the latest title to suffer from a host of issues at launch. Aside from the horrendous performance problems, there are server issues that need to be addressed, not to mention the broken quests. It seems like the studio is aware of all of these problems — they're hard to miss — and has promised a series of patches.

Today, January 10, 2019, Fallout 76 got a new patch on PC that brings bug fixes, performance improvements, reduced repair costs, and more. The console patch is expected next week.

Patch Version

Download sizes for this update will be approximately 4 GB for consoles and around 500 MB for PC.

General

  • Power Armor: The Power Armor light has been made brighter.

  • Performance: Several improvements have been made to in-game performance.

  • Stability: The Fallout 76 game client and servers have received additional stability improvements.

Balance

  • Charging Barrels mod: Increased the Gatling Laser's damage bonus from the Charging Barrels mod.

  • Glowing Ones: Glowing Ones will no longer grant erroneous large amounts of XP. DevNote: Glowing Ones were granting Large Boss XP rewards, making them highly exploitable when combined with Nuke Zones.

  • Crafting: Lowered chance of Power Generators of spawning fusion cores.

  • Crafting: Set minimum component cost of workshop buildings requiring steel, wood or plastic to 2.

  • Bobby Pins: Reduced the weight value of Bobby Pins from 0.1 to 0.001.

Social

  • Teams: Players now receive a notification that 'Players cannot form teams from within Vault 76' if an Invite is sent to a friend still in Vault 76.
